I'm sure your accent is great! I got quite stressed at one point in my life and ran for safety in books, so that was the point of highest turnover (about 100 each year). One writer said to me that reviews are really helpful for introducing people to books, especially indie novels, because no one goes browsing around bookshops and reads the back covers anymore. After that, I tried to leave more reviews here and on Goodreads but did close down my dedicated book blog because people were stealing my profile photos and using them to build fake/catfish accounts. I was also getting overwhelmed by requests for reviews which often were not in my subject areas. My job during and after University was academic editing at Wiley Blackwell, although I much prefer fiction, imagination, wit and escapism. I have edited some fiction anonymously and also a collection of other writers' short stories called Writers in Lockdown. It was the obvious thing to do during Covid. A lot of those then got made into audiobooks, free on Youtube, including one of mine. Sorry - it sounds like my favourite subject is me, but it's really not.
